The Swiss Permaculture Academy

We are a swiss, internationally recognised, association of permaculture designers, both graduates and students.

Our aim is to promote permaculture in all its diversity of approaches and visions, so that it is practised and recognised as a sustainable alternative strategy for meeting ecological, social and bio-economic challenges.

Our role is to train designers in applied permaculture, through a learning pathway leading to a diploma that is validated by peers and recognised internationally.

We want to offer graduates visibility and a place to share tools and experiences.

We provide graduates with support in the form of advice and audits to help them realise their professional projects. Our skills and resources centre disseminates information and lists of courses given by accredited trainers and a list of experimental sites.

We collaborate actively with other international permaculture organisations.

Networking

Our association has achieved international recognition as an official system qualified to award the Diploma of Applied Permaculture Designer.

We network with other permaculture academies and associations around the world, promoting the exchange of practice and experience.

What is permaculture?

Permaculture is a contraction of the terms “agriculture and culture” and “permanent“.

Permaculture is both an ethical-philosophical reference system and a practical approach to daily life according to its three ethics: people care, earth care and fair share.
